Taking wide, sweeping strides across Cannan Green, Texan prospective student Ali Kiran whispered to his mother his game-changing plans for W&L while visiting campus Monday morning. Not only was he going to have a radio show, he said, but also a board game club, a spot in Mock Trial, and election to both the EC and SJC, all while managing his 4.0 GPA. “I’m so excited,” Kiran said as he descended the steps toward Cadaver Bridge. “This is it for me. College is when I’ll finally have all the time in the world to do big things,” he continued, passing a few dead-eyed freshmen on their way to an 8 AM lecture. –Win Gustin
