President Dudley Commences Real Life “Clash of Clans”

Amid the ongoing campus construction, W&L President William Dudley feels it is only fitting to turn today’s campus improvements into a collaborative, but competitive, game among our tight knit community.

Attempting to relate to the student body, Dudley researched the most popular games students play.

“With a quick Google search of ‘cool building games,’ I surfed through today’s hottest games, such as Minecraft, The Sims 4, Jenga, and Clash of Clans,” he stated. “I’m very excited to be keeping up with today’s newest gaming fads.”

Students can compete by completing their own at-home challenges rather than submitting work orders. Examples include, but are not limited to, tampering with thermostats to fix heating issues, calling your father figure for a clogged toilet, and searching “how to remove mold from vents” on YouTube.

With each task reported, you and your roommates’ “clan” will rack up points that can be redeemed for various rewards, such as coveted Dudley-autographed bookstore merchandise and wallet photos of Robert E. Lee.

With the current Reid detour being such a hazard to walk through, Dudley added that if enough clans participate, campus could even win a half-dome safety mirror to avoid the inevitable jump scares around each corner of the path.

“I think it’ll be really great,” Dudley remarked. “We can make campus better one clan at a time, while saving money W&L can use for more sterile, state of the art renovations.”
